The Beginning of a Beautiful Journey
The wedding furor can still be felt by everyone who was a part of Abhinav and Aswini\’s advent into the joyous state of matrimony. A simple yet beautiful wedding, this lovely couple surely reminded all of us that occasions like wedding are enjoyed best when done the true traditional way, amidst the love of family and friends. Theirs was an Iyer Brahmin wedding, and as conventional as it probably Acould be. Starting from the “PandhaKallMuhurtham” to the ending note of “Gravapravesham”, each and every step along the ride was filled with a sweet hullabaloo of families and the rock-solid foundation of traditions.
The wedding that was held at Chennai was our second interaction with the bride\’s family. Prior to this, Aswini\’s sister\’s wedding had also been covered by our team only and with the goodwill earned, this was yet another successful event. Let\’s delve deeper into the details of Abhinav and Aswini\’s wedding! This wedding was shot over a period of two bustling days, and throughout the pictures and the cinematic video of course, you can feel the ease with which it all flowed. In the PandhKaalMuhurtham, the elderly of the family bless the couple by placing a tall wooden stick exterior to their home and raising the banana leaf decorations to ceremoniously announce to the world the oncoming marriage. The divine Marapachibommais have also been captured in the amazing shots below.
Then the “Vratham” or the auspicious fast that is taken by both the families, a day before the wedding, for the prosperity and a long married life of their children. Then the Jaanavasam or the welcoming ceremony for the groom, preceding the reception takes place which includes the aarti. Then the Nicchiyadhartham or simply the Iyer Brahmin Wedding equivalent of an engagement takes place. The most important aspect here is definitely the ostentatious display of gifts, fruits and gold that is laid out for the families in presence of a priest and the idol of God. The succeeding rituals like KaashiYatra, Kanyadan ensued systematically.
Throughout the length of a loud, amusing yet harrowing wedding, beautiful shots of the couple have been captured where they seem to be in a serene world of their own. The bride and groom can both be seen flashing a number of amazing outfits, fit for each ceremony. Their pictures seem to capture how naturally fascinated they seem with each other.
